  • Fort Works Art (FWA) is an art gallery located in the Cultural District directly across from Dickies Arena. FWA sits on ½ acre and features over 5,000 usable square feet of beautiful space. Originally built in 1970, FWA was remodeled in 2015 to expand its offering for event rentals. FWA has vaulted ceilings, natural light, and a backdrop of one-of-a-kind art throughout the gallery.

  • FWA has a maximum capacity of 150 people seated, or up to 200 guests with standing room.

  • Yes, you may bring in your own alcohol and servers. The Insurance policy will be enforced for events that are serving alcohol. If you need further information, please contact the gallery.

  • Yes. FWA will provide you with the information necessary to easily attain liability insurance, either through your homeowners' or automotive insurance. Special Event Liability Insurance is required of ALL renters and is due no later than thirty (30) days prior to your event. The insurance must, at renter’s sole expense, provide and maintain public liability and personal property damage insurance, insuring FORT WORKS ART employees, contractors and contracted vendors against all bodily injury, property damage, personal injury and other loss arising out of renter’s use and occupancy of the premises, or any other occupant on the premises, including appurtenances to the premises and sidewalks. If alcohol is to be served, please make sure that the policy includes Host Liquor Liability coverage to protect you against alcohol related accidents, as you are ultimately liable for the safety of your guests. Any caterers and/or outside vendors, companies, and/or institutions must provide a copy of their Certificate of Insurance and Catering License to FORT WORKS ART as stated and will be delivered at least one month prior to the event. 

  • FWA would love to show off our beautiful gallery. We can coordinate a time to tour the event space at your convenience.

  • Once you decide to use our event space, FWA will send a rental contract for you to review and sign. Upon the agreement is signed and the rental deposits are made, your event is booked!

  • FWA allows you to bring in your own food and drink and/or caterers. However, any non-preferred vendors must provide proof of insurance. Please review our list of preferred vendors if you’re looking for specific services- it will be shared with you once your event is booked.

  • FWA does not currently have equipment for rent but we have a list of items we have for use at the gallery included in your cost. FWA will allow you to bring in the necessary items for you event.

  • If you prefer, FWA has an event coordinator that can take care of the hassle for you.

  • When alcohol is served, one uniformed police officer will be required for every 120 guests. The fee for the officer will be an additional rate per hour per officer.

  • Yes. FWA has 2 parking lots, one located off Montgomery and one off Byers. Free self-parking is available adjacent to FWA. The use of a valet service is allowed and will be the responsibility of the event host.

  • FWA has a half-kitchen that is production space and is to be used for final food presentation, plating and bussing only. Please note that FWA does not provide dishes, glassware, pots, pans, knives, or utensils.

  • FWA works with a variety of local vendors to assist in your event planning. Our preferred vendors include catering, photography, event coordinating, live music, security, valet parking, and more.

    We are happy to share our vendor list with our clients after the booking and deposit is confirmed.

  • FWA has a wireless sound system with A/V connections, easy to access with your phone. If you need additional A/V connections such as microphones and amps, we work with a preferred vendor. 

  • A refund-damage, cleaning, and policy compliance deposit of $1000.00 will be due 30 days prior to the event, along with your signed contract and date-hold deposit. The damage and cleaning deposit will be refunded if there are no damages to the facility, if the facility and grounds are left reasonably clean and free of debris and all policies and terms of the contract are met. 

  • The Date-Hold Deposit is Non-Refundable. Cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 30 days to receive a refund of rental fees (excluding the date-hold deposit).In the unlikely event that FWA must cancel due to an emergency (weather, or unseen circumstances) all deposits may be refunded or the event may be rescheduled within one year at no additional cost. 

  • FWA will work with you on your event to ensure you have enough time to prepare and host your event. Depending on the day of your event, the hours and times may vary, but a minimum of 2 hours is required on all rentals.

  • FWA does not charge a tax or gratuity on venue rentals or on staffing provided directly through our team. If you choose to work with our preferred vendors, note that they may include their own applicable taxes and service charges. Gratuity for staff is always appreciated but never required.

  • Yes, FWA is fully ADA compliant. The gallery is equipped with accessible ramps and a lift to ensure that all areas of the space are wheelchair accessible and comfortable for every guest. 

  • Yes, there is a sink, a refrigerator, and a bathroom in the warehouse for the staff.

  • Given the catering company's experience in setting up operational spaces, they would likely determine the maximum number of tables that can be safely and efficiently set up in the warehouse without obstructing traffic flow or creating safety hazards.

  • The gallery provides 4 cocktail tables with black “hugging” tablecloths and 2, 7-foot rectangular tables with black tablecloths.

  • There will be hired vendors to do the flipping of the space during the event, if needed.

  • This depends on your particular situation. If you would like the gallery to handle event planning items, we can go over what needs to be done.

    Ex. Are we contacting the vendors? Are we meeting with the vendors to go over logistics prior to your event? Will there be any type of rehearsal you are needing? Will we be handling delivery, setup, and pickup of rental items? What vendors are you looking for?
