Fort Works Art recently received its’ first truly critical review of their Last Pop UpShow at their new gallery space, by writer Christopher Blay. The piece hit many bullet points that FWA has eagerly awaited and anticipated. The first point was the confusion as to the type of space Fort Works Art is. The gallery was not quite understandable as to its’ intention. Are they an art fair, an artist studio open house, a bookstore that self promotes their artists? What is Fort Works Art? This is both the question and the answer. This is their mission. They strive to not exist within the confines of the tired and exclusive gallery spaces traditionally available. They look to build a hybridization form of what we are used to seeing in the gallery world. Fort Works Art is a place for both the schooled collector, the family of four, a couple out and about for the night, and artists looking to be inspired and have fun in the Fort Worth art scene
