This gourd tells the story of a slave ship captain on his trip to Benin who came across an 18-month-old child whose life was soon to be taken for a king. The Little Boy was tied up with flies surrounding him. The captain didn’t like the idea of this happening and offered to pay for him to become a slave. He was not looked at as a human being by either party.
